Hey whats up, drewscards here, with a little retail box thing from Target. I opened it on Sunday with my sister, and we got some somewhat nice stuff. The box toppers were a very nice Graded 10 by Beckett, Mint Condition Score 2007 James Jones Rookie Card. There were also two huge cards looking at me. Mailday

Hey what's up, I'm finally some-what caught up. It didn't take long, but Blogger is now where I stay. I got a mailday from eBay, and it was a Derek Jeter Game 107 UD Documentary Card. It doesn't sound like much, but it is the card in Documentary what represents the last game I ever went to in Yankee Stadium. The final score was 13-3, Yankees over the Orioles! It was a great game, and now I could always remember the game. See Ya!

Sorry I Haven't Posted In A While (lol)

01/21/2009
Yo whats up everybody, drewscards here with my 2nd Quarter Spectacular Break Update. I am going to buy a box of 2008 Upper Deck Baseball Heroes, and my friend Mike is going to split a box of 2008 Upper Deck Football Heroes. We also are ordering them from DA (Dave & Adams Sports Cards). On the side, we will order a pack of 2008 Leaf Certified Football, a pack of 2007 Fleer Ultra SE Baseball, and a pack of 2008 Donruss Threads Baseball. Thats about it, and my next post will be a mailday, but after that will be the boxes. See Ya!

PS.. Mike and I are splitting the two free packs that come with the boxes, 2 packs of 2008 Donruss Gridiron Gear Football, and we are opening the boxes on the Super Bowl. I will try to order it all tonight or tommorow.

DRAGONS DEN IS AWESOME!!! ULTIMATE MOJO!!!

Old Post:

01/02/2009
Yo, whaddup guys, drewscards here with another recap of two packs I busted at Dragons Den, my local hobby shop, which now sells good cards! One was of the new Upper Deck Documentary, and I can see why nobody has done a video of it on Youtube. DON'T BUY IT! I got a none other than Kosuke Fukudome RC, and than a pretty nice insert of Ryan Ludwick, with a nice silver All Star Game logo on it.Next I got a pack of Upper Deck Baseball Heroes. I saw a very thick card in there, and before I got excited, what most people hate, thinkingif it's a dummy card or not. Then I thought that there are no dummy cards in Heroes, peeked at the card and it was a hit. The hit was a Chipper Jones #ed/15 Patch Autograph, which are really rare in this Product, as rare as Presidential Cut Signatures and Yankee Stadium Buyback Cards, which sounds like it's up there. I tried later to find out what it books for, couldn't find the real price, but I saw one guy selling a patch auto of Eric Chavez on the A's for $100. I assume the Chipper is worth more, and I am still shocked that I pulled an extremely rare card in 1 pack I bought of it. I was amazed when I got it, and makes a nice part of my collection. Earlier that day, Mike and I talked trades on the phone, considering trading for his Orlando Pace GU from Topps this year for one of my three Chipper Jones jersey cards. When I got this the trade was guarrentead. See Ya !

Bad Day at Target :(

01/02/2009
Yo guys, drewscards here. I went to Target today, day after Christmas, to see that movie "Bedtime Stories" with Adam Sandler, which was very good, especially for a PG movie. Anyway I got another group of packs at Target at the mall too, so check out the recap.
1: Leaf Rookies and Stars (2 packs): some good players but 2 decoys.
2: Donruss Gridiron Gear (1 pack): nothing special, but needed three of the five cards in my set I'm trying to complete of it.
3: Bowman Football (1 pack): John David Booty, Mario Manningham, Branden Albert, Charle Godfrey RC's, and the chrome rookies were Dwight Lowery (Jets corner I needed), and Dequan Morgan.
4: Bowman Chrome Football: Amani Toomer, Hines Ward, and a Dustin Keller RC.
5: Topps Stadium Club: Carlos Gonzalez RC, 1st Day Issue Johnny Damon, nice base
6: Upper Deck Masterpieces Football: Franco Harris, Johnny Unitas, Doug Flutie, and Terry Bradshaw. All were very nice cards.
7: Upper Deck SP Rookie Edition: Nice base, including Eli Manning, and a Glenn Dorsey and Andre Woodson RCs.
8: Upper Deck Timeline Baseball: Base, except a very nice insert of Kosuke Fukudome.
9: Topps Series 3 Updates and Highlights Baseball Fat Pack (get one if you want good players) Jeff Nieman (Rays) and Alberto Gonzalez RCs, a very nice Mickey Mantle insert, and a lot of other All Star Game cards and stuff.
So that's about it guys, See Ya!

2008 Upper Deck Piece of History Hobby Box Recap (2)

Old Post, but getting closer:
01/02/2009

Yo, I've been so caught up with the awards that I didn't finish my Christmas box break recaps. I did a box of the Piece of History stuff, and now I only need 10 cards to complete the base card set (not including rookies and historical moments). By the way the legacy cards were different numbers but were the same pictures as the last box, Don Baylor, Reggie Jackson, and Bucky Dent, but we were shortened one legacy in last box, so we got a Ron Guidry one, one that I didn't have. So anyway, here are some #ed cards results:
- Russell Martin Blue Parallel #ed/25
- John Smoltz/Tim Hudson Cut From The Same Cloth #ed/799
- Ken Griffey Jr/ Carlos Beltran/ Jim Edmonds/ Andruw Jones Franchise Members 4 #ed/799
- Josh Beckett (Red Sox)/Josh Beckett (Marlins) Silver Cut From the Same Cloth #ed/149
- Miguel Cabrera Franchise History #ed/699
- Travis Hafner Box Score Memories #ed/699
- David Ortiz Box Score Memories #ed/699
- Jake Peavy/Dan Haren Cut From the Same Cloth #ed/799
- Steam Engine Gold Parallel #ed/75
- Alfonso Soriano Box Score Memories #ed/699
- Jonathan Papelbon Franchise History #ed/699
- Grady Sizemore Stadium Scenes #ed/25
- Joba Chamberlain Gold Franchise Histroy #ed/99
- Carlos Zambrano Timeless Moments Gold #ed/99

Here are the hits below...

Yep, that's right, my fourth Piece of History Hollywood Card. It's a Shirt From Spy Game worn by Brad Pitt. One of the better hits in a pretty weak overall box.

Here, my favorite out of the box, was a Chipper Jones Gold Box Score Memory Jersey Card #ed/75.

Not great, but a Travis Hafner Jersey Card (Stadium Scenes) not numbered.

Brandon Jones Autograph #ed/499. Not bad, I think he's good, but not all that sure.

2008 drewscards Award Winners

01/02/2009

Yo, whaddup everybody drewscards here with the winners of this year's drewscards Awards. Two things I'm disappointed in right now though. First is that not even one person voted for it, and that's not the way I want it to be. Second is that I wasn't prepared enough to do the awards on video, but I at least wrote my winners on a piece of paper...

2008 Donruss Gridiron Gear Hobby Box Recap

Old Post:

12/28/2008

Yo, everybody, this box I got of Gridiron Gear was insane! We didn't get a hot box, but I got some nice stuff. First, a Brett Favre base card on the Jets, which I needed until now, and got some numbered stuff too. Here are the numbered cards:
- Torry Holt BIG GAME Playbook Insert (#ed/25)
- Mike Hart Rookie X (#ed/100)
- Jerious Norwood X (#ed/100)
- Matt Leinart O (#ed/250)
- James Hardy Next Generation Rookie (#ed/500)
- Rookies (#ed/999)
- Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
- Josh Johnson
- Brandon Flowers
- Mike Curtis (Colts) Insert (#ed/500)
- Jamal Lewis Player Timeline (#ed/100)

The 1st hit I got was the worst, but a nice card. It's numbered out of 250 and is a Next Generation jersey card of Eddie Royal, rookie wide receiver for the Broncos as you may know. Royal had a very good rookie year very quietly, and him and Jay Cutler make a pretty good duo.

Next was a very sick patch of Jeff Garcia. It is numbered 19/40 and I would consider it a 3 color patch, plus jersey. There is a very little piece of red in one of the corners, probably not noticed on the picture, but heck, this new camera is great and it could show it. Jeff has had a couple declining years, but has had a great career, yet I don't think he'll make the Hall Of Fame.

Finally, the last hit in this amazing box was the case hit. It is a Buccaneer player, and is numbered out of 100. It is one of those slideout rookie auto-jerseys of Dexter Jackson. I don't know much about Jackson, but he was a 1st round pick, but it is an amazing card. See Ya!

2008 Topps Allen & Ginter Hobby Box Recap

12/27/2008

What's up guys, drewscards here with a recap of an Allen & Ginter box I recently busted, as a Christmas present. I busted it on camera with Joemama (my dad), and we did very well. We got a lot of base, and minis, and state inserts. We got 2 country mini inserts of Israel and Oman, and we also got one of the Worlds Deadliest Sharks set cards (Great White). I got a legend insert mini of Walter Johnson, former pitcher, Hall of Famer. Our box topper was an N-43 card of Ryan Howard, which is nice. I also got a Crack the Code card of Deep Blue, some computer that beat a guy in chess, the 1st computer to do so. The two hits I got were a jersey of Brian McCann, and a jersey with a pinstripe right down the middle of Brad Hawpe. We also pulled a rip card (#ed/50) of David Ortiz. We tried the flashlight trick on it, but the flashlight wasn't good, so we opened the rip-card anyway and we got a SP mini of Josh Hamilton. I thought it was a great box, and so did Joemama. I need a lot of these cards to complete the set, but I may be able to. See Ya! (Below, Up-Down, McCann jersey, Ortiz rip card with mini inside, Hawpe jersey)

Merry Christmas!!! Blasters and More!

12/27/2008

Yo, whats up everybody, drewscards here to wish all a Merry Christmas. I got some awesome stuff, especially cards and a new camera. So this 1st blog is based on the blaster boxes I got. I got a Upper Deck Update Edition or whatever it's called blaster, a combined UD Series 1 and 2 fat pack blaster, 2008 Donruss Gridiron Gear blaster, and a Goudey blaster. In the update edition box, I got a Yankee Stadium Legacy of Hideki Matsui, and some base and starquest inserts. I got 5 Legacy cards in the jumbo combined Upper Deck box, A-Rod, Hideki Matsui, Joe McCarthy, Red Rolfe, and Randy Johnson. They also had these nice Infield Power Inserts which were 2 per pack, and I got a nice A-Rod one. Those cards are basically all studs like the Starquests, but they're nicer. In the Gridiron Gear blaster, I got a #ed rookie (#ed/999) of Jermichael Finley, TE for the Pack. I also got a nice Rivals insert of Randy Moss/Terrell Owens (not numbered). Finally, in the Goudey blaster, I got a nice A-Rod mini, a LeBron James insert, a Larry Bird Hit Parade of Champions card, a Jake Peavy Black and White Insert, and legacy cards of Derek Jeter and Tino Martinez. Lastly, before start the next blog, my parents got me a lot of jersey/bat cards, and a Joba rookie, and one of the jerseys was guess who? A-Rod! It was when he was on the Rangers, which I'm not all that crazy about, but it's awesome still. The only numbered card in the lot was a Wilson Betemit bat card (#ed/1000). Than, they also got me a lot of like 5000 cards from the 1980s and 1990s, including Griffey, Bonds, etc rookie cards. By the way, the card collection number on the bottom is not going to appear for a little while because I still need to find out how many I have (approx.). I'm predicting between 18 and 19 grand, but thats my prediction. See Ya!

Split With Sweeny- Next Break Update

12/22/2008

Yo, what up everybody, drewscards back here with an update for Mike and I's next split for Christmas. Well, currently he owes a big debt to his parents for texting this music software, which he didn't text in the first place, but enough of his financial troubles and lets move on. We are most likely going to do a box of 2008 Upper Deck Football Heroes, since we picked that over 2008 Donruss Threads Football. It has 4 hits, and 4 stud rookie autos approx. per case and 1 star veteran auto per case. I like the product, especially because you get a lot of nice stuff, and yet you also get plenty of cards. I like the base cards, and the painting checklist cards are really nice. We will probably bust this, but it will be held off until January or February, and if we find a nice deal on a football box on eBay, we may pick it up. So, that's about it, see you at Christmas!

Whats up everybody, it's drewscards here, and I just went to the place my dad went to to buy me the Bernie and Jorge cards. So I got 2 Hobby packs of 2008 Topps Football, and 1 hobby pack of Series 2 Baseball. It's really nice, check it out above...

Mom's Birthday, Some Cards

11/30/2008

Whats up everybody, I got some cards on my mom's birthday, happy birthday mom! So anyway, my dad is going on his dream hunting trip in Saskatchewan, Canada, and before he left, we celebrated my mom's b-day, and when he originally bought her presents, the place he went to sold cards. So he bought me 2. Check them out below.

Yes, the 1st card is a Jorge Posada Rookie Card from Bowman's Best in the early 90's. A very nice card, as I needed it for my collection.

The final one is a Bernie Williams Bat Card from 2000 Piece of History. I really like this card, and also, I didn't have much Bernie in my collection. So thanks dad and good luck in Canada!

Card Amount Ticker

Old post: 11/25/2008

Check out on the bottom of my blogs to see it. I'm a little behind on blogging, so the next 1 or 2 blogs will have the same amount as below:
13,106 Total Cards

2007 Bowman Jumbo HTA Hobby Box Split With Sweeny

Old Box (1st Quarter Spectacular):

11/25/08
Whats up, my friend Mike and I split a box of 2007 Bowman Jumbo Football, and we had an okay box for the final one of my 1st Quarter Spectacular. Not the way I wanted to finish, but anyway. On average, you get 2 rookie autos, and 1 relic per box. Lets test this "Home of the Rookie Card" out. When I opened the box, a present was staring into my eyes in a plastic case. A Kolby Smith Rookie Auto. I've heard of him, so I guess it's okay. We later pulled a Troy Smith jersey card, which was the hit of the box, and here are some other notable cards we got.
- Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson, Jamarcus Russell, Brady Quinn, Marshawn Lynch RCs
- Dwayne Jarrett Blue Parallel RC (#ed/500)
- Jarrett Hicks Blue Parallel RC (#ed/500)
- Jarvis Moss Chrome Refractor Parallel RC (#ed/500)
- Dominic Rhodes Orange Parallel (#ed/250)
Something weird about this...well we had a stalker. Mike pulled a chrome card of Justise Hairston, and one of his packs, and we made fun of his name. That came back to haunt us. We later got a base RC of him, and when we found our final autograph, guess who??? JUSTISE HAIRSTON!!! We were cracking up on video, but mad about stupid Bowman at the same time. Are You Kidding Me? Justise Hairston Auto!!! I ended up getting the 2 autos, and he took home the Troy Smith Relic, and we split the rest up pretty evenly. Mike is a Giants fan, and I'm a Jets fan, so it worked out that way. We actually got a couple Giants and Jets gold parallels (not #ed). He got Kevin Boss and Ahmad Bradshaw, and I got Kyle Steffes. Sucky player, nice card. Anyway, See Ya!!!
PS Next break will be at Christmas most likely!!!

2007 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Baseball Tin Break

Here are the results of this box: (1st Quarter Spectacular)

11/07/08

Jeremy Bonderman Memorabilia Card, junky hit to start

John Smoltz Memorabilia Card, pretty nice

Adam Lind Rookie Helmet Auto, nice card, not the best player

Finally, what you've all been waiting for, the amazing Ryan Zimmerman black bat barrel silver marker auto #ed to 10!!!!! Unbelievable pull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Upper Deck Piece Of History Hobby Box Break!!!

Here is a box break of Upper Deck Piece of History from my 1st Quarter Spectacular:

11/07/2008

Whats up everybody, it's drewscards, and I just busted my 1st hobby box. It was a 2008 Upper Deck Piece of History Box. It (on average) contains 2 baseball player relics, a rookie autograph, and a Hollywood Memorabilia card. On the video I made for it on my pictures my dad joined me in opening the box. We started off on fire, getting a hit in the 1st pack. Unbelievable! I'm only saying this because of what it was. An Albert Pujols 11/25 Blue Parallel Jersey Card. We had in our next few packs, many many hits. So we saved them for later. But after we already had our guaranteed 4 hits, I pulled another one, and it's a beauty. Mariano "Enter Sandman" Rivera and Jonathan "My Team Sucks" Papelbon Dual Cut from the Same Cloth #ed/99 Jersey Card. So, after that amazing start, we had a little boring string of absolutely nothing, but some low #ed inserts, like:
Dice K- Curt Schilling Cut form the Same Cloth #ed/799
Ken Griffey Jr- Frank Thomas Silver Cut from the Same Cloth #ed/150
Vernon Wells 2/25 Blue Parallel
Brandon Jones RC Gold Parallel #ed/75
Manny Ramirez Gold Box Score Memory #ed/99 and many more
I also got 3 Yankee Stadium Legacy cards, although I was shortened of one, I still got a hot box and I can live with that most definitely. The legacies were of Don Baylor, Bucky Dent, and Reggie Jackson. So, for the rest of the hits, I got a Piece of Hollywood Memorabilia of and Undershirt from the 2007 film "The Nanny Diaries", worn by Scarlett Johansen, a Jose Morales Rookie Auto #ed to 50, and a Frank Thomas not #ed GU. So overall an amazing box of hobby wax. In the future, I'm gonna bust 07 Sweet Spot Baseball, and then after that, my friend Mike and I will split an 07 Bowman Jumbo HTA Football Hobby Box. See Ya!

6 Packs of UD Stars & Stripes

Old entry:

10/24/2008
Whats up sportsfans, drewscards here with another break, but 1st, my great new end of the quarter break will be held most likely a week after the 1st quarter of the school year ends. I will have the dmd fantasy football league helping out, as Joemama (my dad), and my buddy Mike have this great break with me. I will have 6 hits (most likely, unless a bad or hot box appears), and I've got new and old school coming. I'm getting 2 boxes for the break, 1 being baseball, and 1 football. For baseball, I pushed out the Ginter box because of the price, to add a football box to the break. So I'm getting a UD A Piece of History box and a 2007 Bowman Jumbo Football. I saw Chris from youtube (chris5784) bust a box of this, and I was impressed, because it's cheap, and you get 1 rookie relic and an autograph. Also, you get 165 rookie cards, so I'll probably at least get 1 Adrian Peterson rookie, and some other good rookies are in it as well. So, I guess I'll give it a try.

Anyway, today I opened box of Upper Deck Stars and Stripes Edition. But I had to save 4 packs for the 2 boys at my sister's family birthday party this weekend as party favors. You get 1 memorabilia card per box, and in this edition, it's a player on the USA National Baseball Team. So, being careful, and also wanting to get that card, I took the most thick packs. Here's What I got, in order of the 6 Packs I opened.
Pack 1: Evan Meek RC, Season Highlights of Torrii Hunter
Pack 2: USA Hit: Tyler Wilson Black GU Jersey, Troy Tulowitski Star Attractions Insert

Here is a past entry:

10/19/2008

Hey guys, yet again, more random packs. But I will have a pretty sweet break coming up, including UD A Piece of History Box and Allen and Ginter Box, and depending on how much $ I have left, I will include a Football box (not sure yet). Anyway, I got 2 packs of Topps Football, and some guys I got were: Osi Umenyiora, Deion Branch, Rob Bironas, Pat Williams, Laveranues Coles, RC of Darren McFadden, Carson Palmer, Jason Witten Pro Bowl Card, Eli Manning, Jerious Norwood, Troy Polamalu, Phil Wheeler RC, Jon Beason Own the Game (never heard of him, how could he "Own the Game"!), Gold (# to 2008) of Tyrell Johnson, and a NFL Dynasties of Franco Harris. Also, I went to my local vending machine outside the shop. Yet again, put my change under the Random Yankees Card section, and pulled something good for a change. Mike Mussina 2002 Topps Base, Steve Karsay 2002 Topps Base, and a Nick Johnson card from 01. I guess that's okay, considering the fact that I usually get a no name player. I also got a pack of Allen and Ginter at Rite Aid. I got: Vernon Wells, Josh Hamilton, Mark Buehrle, Carlos Lee, Jesse Carlson RC Mini, and a Pedro Feliz Base. I also picked up a Brian Westbrook Turn Back the Clock card, and learned that they give you a random card every week. Sounds like an organized system! Anyway, See Ya!

Upper Deck Series 2 Blaster Box

Yo whaddup everybody, drewscards here with a blaster box I did in September, in the beginning. I am re-posting my old articles for you guys to read, Thanks, Drew Here:

Hey everybody! This actually was a great box my grandma gave gave me on vacation in Lake Minerva, in Adirondacks NY, where we enjoy the beautiful mountain air every Labor Day weekend, and we enjoy time with my dad's family. So, in this box, there was one hit, 1 gold serial #'ed card (which I didn't notice in my video), 1 political cartoon card, a starquest card in every pack, and 1 Super Rare Starquest. I got a Francisco Liriano jersey card (no #), a Tony Gwynn Jr. Gold (Serial # 82-99). I got a Hilary vs. McCain Cubs-White Sox Rivalry Cartoon Card, a bunch of common starquests but a CC Sabathia rare, a Vladimir Guerrero and Ichiro un-common, and a Carlos Beltran Super Rare card. So overall, a very good box, although I could've gotten better of a jersey card. Today, my Pop Pop gave me about 10 vintage cards. The best 3 today were a Buddy Bell 1979 base card, a Jim "Catfish" Hunter base card (1979 as well), and a triple rookie/prospect card with Dale Berra on it. Dale is actually Yogi's son so it's pretty cool. Alright, See Ya!
