It's getting towards the end of the year, not many opportunities to get points on the scoreboard. The entire leaderboard can be found on the sidebar above the blog list, Hackenbush currently in 1st with 9 1/2 points. If you don't know any of the answers, take a look at my Robinson Cano or Nick Swisher wantlists, if you have anything I don't have let me know and you'll get half a point for each new addition you make to my collection. So, anyway, here's today's question:
I have appeared IN UNIFORM in more World Series games than anyone in history. Who am I? How many games?
1. Name
Games
So, please don't cheat, work out the problem yourself, hmmm... what teams were they on, what years were that team in the World Series, etc. You get the point. Good luck with the question, the person who answers it correctly gets 1 point on the leaderboard. Every point counts!
No, the picture doesn't have anything to do with the question.

Wow...I'd say Yogi Berra. But World Series #'s I have no idea and # of games I have no idea. He was on the Yankees though obviously.
ReplyDeleteBerra - 75 games?
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing Berra. I'm pretty sure he's got 8 rings, but no idea on the # of ames. 60ish? haha
ReplyDeleteYogi Berra
ReplyDelete10 rings as a player (47, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 56, 58, 61, 62). One ring as a coach (69 Mets). I think he coached for the Yankees in the late 70s (77 and 78). He also was in the Series for losing teams in 55, 57, 60, 63, 64 and managed the Mets in their WS loss in 73. If these are all of the World Series that Yogi has been in, then it would be at least 112 games.
As a PLAYER, it would be 86 games.
Hint.... You're ALL wrong. This one is tricky!
ReplyDeleteAndy Pettitte?
ReplyDeleteeek... nope, but good guess. he is a yankee though
ReplyDeleteGehrig? I think he' holds the record for most hits in the World Series, so thaat might make sense...
ReplyDeleteCasey Stengel? No clue about how many games...
ReplyDeletenope, told ya it's tough :)
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm running out of ideas. haha Ummm, Bernie Williams?
ReplyDeleteBill Klem, He umped 108 World Series games.
ReplyDeleteNo idea...I'll guess Don Zimmer haha.
ReplyDeletenope
ReplyDeleteBob Sheppard? Maybe he used to wear a Yanks jersey in the media booths. LOL, I dont know man, your grandpa got us good with this one.
ReplyDeleteOK, I think I finally got this one:
ReplyDeleteFrank Crosetti. The guy has 17 rings as a player/coach, it must be him. He's also been to 23 World Series altogether...
ha ha, sheppard, lol
ReplyDeleteYou're right dude!!!! Crosetti won the most in uniform world series games!!!! Congrats!
