Awards Announced Live Tonight Starting @ 8:00!!!

Hey guys, Drew back here, the awards will be announced starting at 8:00 tonight on the blog. We haven't gotten any voters, and while talking to Beardy he says polls would be the best thing to do. Unfortunately there is barely any time left for this so we can not do polls. The voting period is not over yet, so I'll run a how to on voting one more time and hopefully everyone reading this gets their votes in. I may have been a little confusing but I've been so busy and this thing has been a lot of work, and I'm not sure if I'm going to do this next year. Anyway, here is a how to on voting:

HOW TO VOTE FOR
THE 2009 CARD AWARDS

Step 1: Go into your email and make a message out to my email "yanks1996wsc@gmail.com"

Step 2: Cast your vote by picking a winner in each of the following categories.

Blog of the Year:
- Wax Heaven
- Night Owl Cards
- Cardboard Junkie
- Stale Gum
- Beardy's Baseball Blog

Rookie Blog of the Year:
- Beardy's Baseball Blog
- The Mojo Hand
- The Priceless Pursuit
- Ryan's Memorabilia Blog
- The Collective Troll

Blog Trader of the Year:
- My Past Time... I Love It
- Ryan's Memorabilia Blog
- Beardy's Baseball Blog
- Play at the Plate
- Nachos Grande
- The Mojo Hand

Biggest Blog Box Breaker:
- I Am Joe Collector
- Stale Gum
- Wax Heaven
- Sports Cards Uncensored
- The Mojo Hand

Most Creative Blogger:
- Night Owl Cards
- Cardboard Junkie
- Dinged Corners
- Beardy's Baseball Blog
- The Collective Troll

Coolest Blog Design:
- drewscards
- Hey That's Mine
- Night Owl Cards
- Wax Heaven
- Condition:Poor

So, you should be emailing me your 6 votes, 1 for each of the 6 categories. The reason why I decided not to do polls were if let's say I didn't get a single vote for an award I would probably be upset. It's certainly not the end of the world, but it would kinda stink. So, please if you have not done this yet please vote, before 8:00 you partiers! I actually have my uncle and aunt and cousins coming for a few days, so I'm not sure if I'll have time to post the awards one at a time, so maybe at midnight I'll announce them all. We'll see. Happy New Year to all! See Ya!

Update on the Card Awards

Hey guys, Drew back here, nice to see some good feedback on the last few posts, now, there has been some chat going on lately between a bunch of us bloggaz, and we decided to make an ultimate blogging awards. Haven't heard back from the other commissioner of this thing, wicked ortega, but so far we've got a little panel and it's looking good so far. We do need a logo and other stuff to make this shin-dig big but this is the panel:
COMMISSIONERS:
- Wicked Ortega
- drewscards (Me)

CONFIRMED PANEL (including Wicked & I too):

- Beardy
- Priceless Pursuit
- Collective Troll
- Waxaholic
Mike Ryan (Ripken Pursuit) decided to step down yesterday, so Joe from the Priceless Pursuit joined! I've had some swirling thoughts about it lately, and I figured why not share them with you! So, I don't want any more than 30 awards, but 30 may work if all of us in the panel do 5 seperate awards on our respective blogs. My ideas on types of awards so far:

Product Awards:
Company of the Year (Topps, Upper Deck, Panini, Razor, Tristar)
Baseball Product of the Year
Football Product of the semi-Year
Blog Awards:Blog of the Year
Rookie Blogger of the Year (started January 1 on)
Most Giving (as a trader)
Biggest Box Breaker
Most Creative
Coolest Blog Design
Most Giveaways
Sports Awards:Moment of the Year
Team of the Year
Athlete of the Year
Coach of the Year

Lastly, wasn't sure if it would work or not (most of the panel doesn't like this idea), but I was thinking about Entertainment Awards, like CD of the year, Singer of the Year, Movie of the Year, TV Show of the Year, Actor/Actress of the Year, and Video Game of the Year. I sorta like the idea, mostly because I love that stuff, but not sure about you.

Also, voting has been brought up a good amount of times as well, and I wanted to let you know that voting goes like this:

-
For Awards that don't involve any of you, polls will take place over all of the blogs
-
For polls that involve you the bloggers and maybe readers, email me, wicked, Beardy, Pursuit, Canuck, or Troll with a nomination (for the panel, let us all know who voted so we can keep track)

Hopefully you guys follow me so far, be sure to see more of this on here soon,

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE COMMENT TO LET US KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS!!!!!

See Ya!

PS somethings screwed up with the font size, please excuse me blowing your eyes out of your head while technical difficulties take place

UPDATE ON THE TRIVIA QUESTION!

Hey guys, please take a look below, there is a chance for a bonus if you guess any of the 3 players in this question that have won a High School Championship, College Championship, NBA Championship, and an Olympic Gold Medal in their basketball careers? 1.5 points will be given for each of these 3 bonus dudes guessed. Also, there is one more player in the 1st 7 that won a college, NBA, and Olympic Gold medal that hasn't been guessed yet.

And, please vote on the POLL!!!! Who is the best baseball retired through the mail signer? Kent Hrbek has 1 vote, and Mike Mussina and Pete Rose have 2 votes each! Break the tie!

ROCK THE VOTE AGAIN!!!

Come on guys, not much time left to vote for another end of the year award, best Youtuber of the year. Here are your choices if you are unfamiliar:

The Backstop Dot Net: These guys own the Craziest Live Sports Show on the Web!!! They have a store by the New Jersey shore and they do monthly pack battles that you can go to to have fun. On top of that they often post box breaks opened by people who come into the store! They are a lot of fun and you should definitely watch these guys. Some recommended videos made by this group are:
PULL OF A LIFETIME!!!
The Missing Shirt Playlist (A 5 episode series that soon is coming back) This is a link to the 1st video in the group, check out the account to view more, or their new website, http://www.thebackstop.net/

Jawdy's Basement: This guy recently made the move from Utah to South Jersey, and seems like a good guy. He did a few group breaks in the past and has opened plenty of boxes for the public to see. He features his son, who also owns a Youtube channel, Number1Dragonoid, and he entertains us all, especially when they pull their beloved Phillies cards! Here are some recommended videos made by these guys:
2 Cuts in 1 Box!!!
2009 Topps Hobby Box Recap
By the way, he also has a blog, but it hasn't been updated in a few months, hopefully we could urge him back into blogging! Here is a link to his (and JoshSamBob's, a fellow Youtuber) blog!

Stale Gum: Of course, the very famous box breaker and junk wax buster, one of our own, the man that invented the way to say Mojo and not sound like a kid that just finished watching Pokemon! Don't forget to catch him live on Blog TV tomorrow night! Here's to you Chris Harris, "Real Man of Genius..." !!! Here are some great videos made by this mastermind!:
The First Video of his epic Allen & Ginter Box Break (make sure to watch all 4 parts!)
They're all great! Watch em all! I can't pick
And heres a link to his blog!

chri5784: These guys, Chris, Tattoo, and all of the others down in the Carolinas at Cards Infinity know how to impress the collectors! Daily box breaks, boxes they open for the people that order on their site, Cards Infinity! Today, they came out with the first released box break of the new Goodwin Champions, so they are the head of the game, on top of all of the box breaks. Plus they are really fast breaks and never disappoint! Check out some of their videos:
GOODWIN BREAK!!!
Intro Sort of Thing
Over 1300 Videos! Very hard to choose so I'll let you pick!

BobGibsonFan: This guy just opened a card shop and does constant great box breaks. Every day check him out, typically at least 1 box a day. Plus Babe Ruth's have been pulled and the box Jawdy bought that contained 2 Cuts in it! So, check this new guy out, definitely my Rookie of the Year youtuber, so check this guy's great videos out!:
On the Phone with Fernando from Upper Deck!
Nice 2006 Topps Sterling Box!
Tour of the Shop

TomtheRipper407: He knows how to make sports cards cool, using fun and cool effects to make his videos shine! He makes many trips to his card shop and opens packs and boxes of new cards, while using awesome effects and so much to enjoy! Here are some recommended videos of his:
Revelution against Obama! JD Manning
Rippin': 2009 Allen & Ginter

If you have any other suggestions please leave a comment in this post, thanks for viewing, and pick your fave! See Ya!

Workin....

Hey guys, Drew back here, after just making a huge list of baseball players who sign Through the Mail. That is my general topic of the day today, as I just put up a new poll, who is the best current TTM signer. You may not be a part of TTM's, but they are great. A dollar for autographs? That's a fantastic deal! Anyway, I made the list on Microsoft Word, so if you would like a copy of it please email me at yanks1996wsc@gmail.com and I'll send you it. I forgot to mention in there that some retired and Hall of Famers (and Andrew Miller) charge money for autographs. Harmon Killebrew charges the most, about $65 an auto, and Yogi Berra charges between $30 and $50, and I'm going to send to him soon. Anyway, this poll is between:

So we now also know the Twins are the best signing team. Fransisco Liriano and Kevin Slowey also sign, and former Twinkies David Ortiz, and A.J. Pierzynski also occasionally sign! Who will win? Vote vote vote and we'll find out! See Ya!

Who was brave enough to vote for Matt Cain?

Man, this poll is just a bit lop-sided! 17 votes so far, 16 for Tim Lincecum over Matt Cain! So you guys don't know the stats behind it!

Matt Cain: 12-4 Record, 2.44 ERA, 124 K

Tim Lincecum: 12-3 Record, 2.20 ERA, 198 K

So, Lincecum does have better stats and I would have voted for him too but he has only dominated 1 out of the 3 major categories of pitching! I can't believe it's been THIS lop-sided!
