Cardboard from the Midwest Mailday!

Hey guys, Drew back here. Yesterday I got my first package in weeks, coming from Todd of MidWest Cardboard. It sure has been a while, but maybe I can get on track a little coming up. Here's the nice cards that my buddy Todd traded me:

First, some sweet refractors from 2010 Topps Chrome. A Mark Teixeira refractor, AJ Burnett Xfractor, and a Derek Jeter Orange Refractor. All 3 cards really pop and are absolutely awesome looking. However, when I take them out of the toploaders, they have an extreme bend, which is definitely a problem! It seems to be a major problem with this set, hopefully it gets fixed by next year.

2 Legends of New York for sure right here. Jeter has always been my favorite baseball player until Nick Swisher came along, and that card just sums up how great of a man he is. The Namath card is sooooo nice, by far the nicest Namath card I own and one that I will continue to love!

Lastly, an autograph from 2009 National Chicle of Hakeem Nicks, one of the Giants top wide receivers. I hear a lot in school about the Giants, being in New York, and as a Jets fan I felt it was necessary to add his autograph to my collection. That means the player has to be awesome, considering I won't trade it to my friend and I'll keep it myself! This is a sweet painting and an amazing card, definitely a job well done by Topps.

Overall I'm really pleased with this trade, thanks so much Todd, enjoy your cards! Be sure to check out MidWest Cardboard when you get a chance! See Ya!

Some Recent Mailbox Love

Hey guys, Drew back here. I am starting to fall a little behind but I'm in decent shape right now. By the way, I got an RTS from Phil Coke yesterday, wrong address, my bad. I'll try him again during the season. Anyway, got 3 packages to share with you, the first is courtesy of William from foul bunt. This guy is one of the best guys I've met on this blog journey, he and I have made several trades and have talked quite a bit through email. He invited me into his fantasy team and sent me an extremely long email about not making the team. He sent me some cards out of kindness and I got them yesterday. Here they are:

Here we have some nice oddballs from 1995 of Whitey Ford and Reggie Jackson. Never seen them before and they look cool. Next is a cool looking hologram followed by a 1990 Fleer Dave Winfield. I love the shot on that card and is a favorite in my Winfield catalog. On the bottom row, we have a 2009 Unique Teixeira, I have the red parallel and now the base as well. Lastly, 3 2010 Upper Decks, a Melky base, a Burnett Biography, and a Cano biography that I needed for the PC.

In this group we have 2 1990 Topps, Winfield and Bucky Dent, and 3 1986 All Stars, Winfield, Mattingly, and Guidry. I needed the Mattingly so that's awesome. The last one in this group was a 1990 Score Bernie rookie card. This is a nice shot though I would've preferred a braces shot, it cracks me up to see him in braces when he was a rookie. That is a nice card no doubt!

And finally, here are a bunch of 1998 Topps from a recent break. I don't think I had one single card from this set beforehand, so a chunk of Yanks is nice. The Pettitte is my favorite with the Tino and Jeter at a close second.

Thanks so much William! On to the next one...

Another Sports Card Forum trade! This one landing me a few Kleckos and Namaths, as well as a few Mattinglys. The upper left Namath is my favorite of the bunch, the picture is amazing! I also like the Post Mattingly. Thanks SCF dude!

And since I should be going to bed and in a rush, here's the last package I'll show ya, a very special one from today.

Yep, that is a 2009 Topps Tribute jersey card of Whitey Ford. I know you're oooowing and aaahing at it right now so I'll let you look at it for a sec.

Ok, there. Now read. I got this for $7.00 plus $3.00 shipping on eBay. 10 bucks for a Whitey Ford jersey /99 from a $50 per pack product? Crazy, but true. This is a sweet card to add to the collection and I'm glad to have it. There is a small hint of a pinstripe too so that's a bonus!

All right, going to bed now zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........ See Ya!

Cards courtesy of foul bunt!

Hey guys, Drew back here again, with probably my last post of the day, because today will be really busy. I gotta do homework, including a Spanish project, go to church at 10:30, do chores, shower, and at 4:00 go to an open gym for baseball. Ugh, just writing that huge sentence makes me sick to my stomach. Anyway, yesterday William of foul bunt, who I will advertise again any second now, sent me some

NOW!!!!

Told you it could happen any second, so yeah, he sent me some cards, just some mixed Yankees, just out of being nice... awesome. Here are the cards:

First off some 2010 Topps, all are doubles but that's good because I needed one of each for the Yankee Collection after I got them for the set. Take a look at the CC though. There seems to be a little printing issue, you can click on the picture to see it better. Topps printing press FAIL.

A bunch of random stuff at once. I needed the Joba Unique, which is a nice card. I do have the red parallel of it so now I have 1 of each. The Damon is cool, although he just signed a deal with the Tigers, which disappoints me, but we do have Granderson now. Next are 2 nice needed Mattingly's, as you may have seen he is on my PC's list on the top of the sidebar now, I'm trying to get a bunch of his cards now. Cool! On the bottom row, we start with a Reggie Cards My Mom Threw Out, which I have 2 of now, again, 1 for set, and 1 for PC. Next is a Jeter 20th Anniversary, which I didn't have, and it's a nice card talking about him becoming the captain. Oh wait, it's 20th Anniversary Retrospectrum. Good idea Upper Deck, bad job making it work. Next is a card of J.R. Murphy, who I haven't heard about but maybe he's good. It's from the new Donruss Elite set, and those are some awesome looking cards! Lastly, we have a 2010 Upper Deck Joe DiMaggio. I wanted a bunch of these, I have 2 now, and this one is really cool. I love Heroes, and Joe DiMaggio is the man, so gotta get the rest of these. Sorry if this sounds like I'm in a rush, oh yeah, I am in a rush, so please bare with me.

Next we have a cool football card from a baseball set. 2008 Goudey is still a favorite of mine, and I still am trying to get those stinkin short prints! This Hit Parade of Champions card isn't my 1st of the subset, but I will admit these cards are really cool. I have a Michael Jordan double too, and that's for trade. As for Joe Namath though, this is my 1st of it and it is an awesome card! It's unique, bigger than an Allen & Ginter mini but not by much, and it's a square. Joe looks cool as usual on this card, and it is one of my favorites that I have of him now.

Next up are two vintage cards, from 1970. I'm still not all that sure why he sent these, but they're cool. I love getting some old school cards, even with damage, but, not too much damage. I don't know the players but it's cool to get something different.

Lastly, he sent me 3 Cano's, I have only the Fleer one. I swore I had the 206 card but I guess I didn't, I have the bronze border and the mini cycle, but I need the rest. Co-Signers may be the most annoying set on the planet, well, along with Moments & Milestones and Documentary, but this card is really nice. Just because it's annoying doesn't mean I don't like it!

Thanks so much William, again, everyone check out his blog, he's a great guy and a great trader!
