BCHOF #8

Hey guys, Drew back here, and we have a new card entering the Baseball Card Hall of Fame. It was really close, but this card ended up winning:

http://www.homeruncards.com/imagesrc/hendersonrtp.jpg
1980 Topps Rickey Henderson

This famous rookie card featured a young Rickey Henderson, who actually debuted in the majors in 1979 but this card made one year later became his rookie card. Topps was the only "big" company that produced cards during this time, so this was Rickey's only rookie card. John commented and told me this part, thanks again. This is the last Hall of Famer that only has one rookie card. Nobody will EVER have one rookie card again, due to Topps, Bowman, Upper Deck, Panini/Donruss, and all of the other companies that make rookie cards. I would be shocked to see only 1 rookie card for a big name player. So, given that, this is a collector's favorite, and it has been very popular from the day it made it's way into packs to today. I want to get this card, and it is highly possible, because it sells for about $20-$50, and when graded, more. The card will leave a lasting impact on the game of baseball and the hobby, especially after Rickey went into the Hall of Fame, just last year.

So that's it, Rickey is a no doubt Hall of Famer. But will be card #9 in the BCHOF? Leave a comment stating which card you would like to enter the Hall next. Remember, the 1st card to get 3 votes in the comments is in! See Ya!

BCHOF #7

Hey guys, Drew back here, with an all new Baseball Card Hall of Famer, so, uh, well, here it is!

http://keymancollectibles.com/baseballcards/images/1954bo1.jpg
1954 Bowman Ted Williams

Well, this is basically from the home of my most hated team, but I will say it's a real classic card. Another negative though is that honestly, the design is pretty darn ugly to me. Still, none the less, it won the Ted Williams War! Right now you can find this card PSA 5 on eBay for over 1,000 dollars! This is I'd say the crown jewels of Sox fans, not sure of any other Ted Williams' cards that rank higher, so, welcome to the BCHOF Teddy Ballgame!

Not happy with the recently elected card? Well, that's too bad! No, please, leave a comment on what card you think deserves to be the next card elected! Vote vote vote and have a happy halloween!

BCHOF Card #6

Hey guys, Drew back here. You guys did a good job of putting this next card in fast, here it is:

1951 Bowman Willie Mays Rookie Card

One of the best baseball players of all time at his finest. Willie was an unbelievable player, hitting 660 home runs, and a 12 time gold glove winner. He made the all star team 20 times, won a World Series, 2 NL MVP's, and sits in our baseball hall of fame. You could own his finest piece for a couple grand.

So guys, let's vote for the next card, but no polls this time! Pick a card and leave a comment, that way we don't forget any. Thanks, and see ya!

BCHOF Card #5

Hey guys, Drew back here, I posted the wantlist for Allen & Ginter under set wantlists under my PC's on the sidebar. Everyone should be able to be able to view it now, no more technical difficulties! Here is the next card in the series:

http://www.cardcollectoruniverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/1954-hank-aaron.jpg
1954 Topps Hank Aaron Rookie Card

Well, it was during the time that he was known as Henry, or other racist names to most people. Today, he's the king of home runs. Say what you want about Jackie Robinson but I think this guy is the one that really ended the issue of being prejudice and opened the gates to all types of players! Hank hit 755 home runs in his career, and should still be known as the home run king, instead of Bonds. This is Hank's most legendary card and it sells for close to around $1000. I'd love to get my hands on it, but I'd have to get my hands on Bill Gates' wallet first!

So guys be sure to remember that there will be a different poll for the next card now. What will card #6? Will Shoeless Joe finally get the nod, or will Sandy Koufax prevail? What about the 1951 Bowman Willie Mays? It's your decision. See Ya!

BCHOF Card #4

Hey guys, the poll is now done because we got 3 votes on a card to put in the Hall of Fame, and here it is:

http://www.sportscards360.com/images/1933GoudeyBabeRuth.jpg
1933 Goudey George Herman (Babe) Ruth

So some babe is in our hall of fame now, great! No, this is a legendary card of the Babe, more famous than his secret rookie card and other goudeys. This is the Babe Ruth crown jewels, and is a card I will forever want in my collection. The Babe hit 714 home runs in his career, only to be beaten by Hank Aaron*

So guys, let's get an idea of Card #5 in the Hall of Fame! See Ya!

*Hmmm, why did I use an asterisk? Hank Aaron is the king

BCHOF Induction Card #3

So, after a very successful voting process, we have our 3rd card in the Baseball Card Hall of Fame. Here you go:

http://mentalfloss.cachefly.net/quiz/uploads/1207660347623.jpg
1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr. Rookie Card

Well, this one card got Upper Deck on the bandwagon! This is definitely a Hall of Fame player and card, the best UD ever (in my opinion). Since Upper Deck has lost the privilege to using MLB logos, most likely Upper Deck won't be able to produce an amazing card like this in the future. Sadly, I don't have this card, so if you have some doubles of it, maybe we could make a trade? Thanks.

So again, lets keep voting, what is the 4th best card of all time? We got Honus, Mickey, and Griffey, who's next? Maybe that 1915 Cracker Jack Shoeless Joe, or one of the 1933 Goudey Babe Ruths, or maybe even something of Hank Aaron or Willie Mays! Just some suggestions. See Ya!

The 2nd Induction Ceremony

Hey guys, Drew back here, and we are now electing our 2nd card into the Baseball Card Hall of Fame! This card received 4 votes total, and it is one of the more legendary rookie cards in history. Here he is:

http://www.cardcollectoruniverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/1952-topps-mantle-sgc-80-may-9-26650.jpg
1952 Topps Mickey Mantle Rookie Card!

Mickey's career has been a huge legacy, surviving through all the injuries and still having a fabulous career. His career batting average was .298 and he hit 536 home runs, not as lengthy as Ruth, Aaron, or Mays, but still prolific. This card has been enormously popular with collectors, and they sell for a lot of $. Some people call this card the King of post war cards even! It sold for 275,000 one time, graded 10 gem mint condition!

So there you have it, Mickey Mantle gets the nod at #2, and #3 is coming soon to drewscards. Leave your comments in this post and we can get #3 done. Please Vote on this and see ya!

The Baseball Card Hall of Fame! (BCHOF)

Hey guys, Drew back here with the first installment of the my new series, the Baseball Card Hall of Fame (BCHOF). In this segment I will select a fan friendlly famous baseball card that has made a difference in the hobby. It doesn't have to be an old card, it can be new, and if it is new it doesn't have to be an autograph, jersey, or whatever. It can be anything, and you the fans will decide on what you think belongs in the Hall. One card is going to be elected today, and here we go!

THE OPENING INDUCTION CEREMONY

So, this card is the most famous baseball card of all time, we can all agree. It has sold for over 1 million in the past, mostly because of how old and scarce it is. There are only 40 or so copies rumored to exist. Back in the late 1800's, baseball cards were included when you purchased cigarettes or tobacco. Companies like Allen & Ginter and Goodwin Champions were behind these cards, and many kids wanted a card of their idols. So, the kids would buy this stuff, and this player didn't want to be included in the set due to this issue. So, they cut off print run for the cards, and some like recent cards have leaked out into the public.

This is a 1909 T206 Honus Wagner baseball card, and this has made Honus more legendary than he would be today. Wagner is one of the best players of all time, and his baseball card is in my opinion, the best! So, without further due, I present Honus Wagner to you:

http://elitechoice.org/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/auction.jpg

I got to see this card in person once at the Baseball Hall of Fame this spring, here's a picture of it (and me!!!)

So, guys, please leave a comment below on what you think should be the second card voted into the BCHOF. For a card to get in it has to get at least 3 votes so think about it, there is one that you all can agree on! See Ya!
